Ma Hailiang has been working at Hohai University since 2006, focusing on his own position, working diligently, and always loyal to the Party's education cause. He insists on putting moral education at the center of all work, and has received unanimous praise from teachers and students for his profound knowledge and serious and responsible work attitude. He has hosted and participated in more than 10 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Foundation, and the Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education. In terms of teacher ethics construction,he deeply studied and understood the construction of the teaching staff in the new era and the important discourse on the standards of good teachers, as well as the spirit and normative norms of the Opinions on Strengthening and Improving the Construction of Teacher Ethics and Professional Conduct in the New Era, Handbook of Teacher Ethics at Hohai University (2022 Edition), Guidelines for the Guidance of Graduate Supervisors and other relevant documents issued by the Ministry of Education and other departments on the construction of teacher ideology, politics, and professional ethics and professional conduct. He deeply understands that teachers are the foundation of education, and professional ethics are the soul of teachers. He continuously improves his professional ethics, fulfills his duties in teaching and research work at school, and often talks with students to improve their political and moral literacy.
In terms of course teaching, he carefully summarizes his teaching experience, continuously improves his teaching level, and ensures that every lesson is well prepared. Due to thorough preparation and passionate classes, over the past 5 years, multiple courses have been rated in the top 15% of the school, and have won the second prize in the teaching competition at Hohai University twice. In 2017, they were awarded the title of Outstanding Lecturer at Hohai University. Over the years, I have guided undergraduate students to win multiple national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship projects, as well as excellent undergraduate theses in Jiangsu Province and excellent graduation theses from Hohai University. He was awarded the excellent class tutor of Hohai University in 2013 and exemplary individual of three aspects of cultivating peopeo of Hohai University in 2017.
In terms of scientific research, he has long been committed to research in water resource economy and industrial economy. He has led multiple projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Spatial Heterogeneity of Green Water Resource Utilization Efficiency and Its Coupling with New Urbanization and the Ministry of Education's Mechanism and International Comparison of New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion. He has participated in multiple national level projects, such as the National Social Science Foundation, the National Self Science Foundation, and the Social Science Foundation, and has published more than 40 SSCI and CSSCI papers. He has also published three monographs, including Water Resource Management in China's Urbanization Process. His research results have effectively promoted research progress in the fields of water resource management and industrial economy in China.
In terms of administrative work and social services, he conscientiously fulfills the responsibilities of deputy director of the department, continuously strengthens professional construction, and his major was approved as a first-class undergraduate major in Jiangsu Province in 2021. As an anonymous reviewer for departments such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, I actively fulfill the social responsibility of scholars and undertake a large amount of fund review and paper review work every year. Due to his positive external effects, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Communist Party Member at Hohai University in 2021.
