Academic and Cultural Exchange Camp of Youth Teachers and Students from Nanjing, Hong Kong and Macau
Hohai University is a national key university with a history of over 100 years, characterized by water conservancy, engineering as the main subject, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Water Resources, the State Oceanic Administration, and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is a university that implements the key construction of the national "211 Project", the construction of a national advantageous discipline innovation platform and the construction of first-class disciplines, and the establishment of a graduate school was approved by the Ministry of Education.
The two disciplines of water conservancy engineering and environmental science and engineering of the university were on the shortlist of the first-class discipline construction. In the 4th round of national discipline evaluation, the discipline of water conservancy engineering was rated A+ with excellent results; Civil Engineering and Environmental Science and Engineering ranked A-, ranking among the top 10% in the country. Our university has continued to develop scientific research cooperation and cultural exchanges with Hong Kong and Macau universities, enhanced mutual understanding, promoted the development of higher education exchanges and cooperation between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau, and achieved good exchange results.
In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Central Committee, continue to develop personnel exchanges and economic, cultural and academic exchanges between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau, and increase mutual understanding between the people of the two places, Hohai University makes use of its own disciplinary advantages and the existing communication channels between the two places to actively publicize the achievements made in the political, economic, social, cultural, educational and scientific and technological fields since the 18th National Congress of the Mainland of the People's Republic of China, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between universities in the Mainland and Hong Kong and Macau in the fields of academic research and practical innovation, and promote the understanding of Hohai University, Nanjing and the identification of Hong Kong and Macau students with the mainland of the motherland.
Businss School of Hohai University invited some faculty and student representatives from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Macau University of Science and Technology and City University of Macau to visit Hohai University in August 2022. The activities mainly take the form of academic reports, enterprise visits, practical exchanges, symposiums and seminars, etc., aiming to enhance the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in related research and practice fields. At the same time, through visits to historical and cultural buildings such as the Nanjing Museum, Hong Kong and Macau students can enhance their understanding of the urban development and customs of the mainland of the motherland, and enhance the sense of identity of young students in Hong Kong and Macau with Chinese culture.
