In March 2021, the General Office of the Ministry of Education announced a list of national and provincial-level first-class undergraduate program in 2020. Two majors of Human Resource Management and Accounting in HHBS were selected as national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites (central track) at the same time. Three majors in our school have been selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites (engineering management has been selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites in 2019).
Hohai University is one of the earliest universities in China to set up a human resource management major. It recruited labor economic management students for the first time in 1986. In 1989, it opened the personnel labor and administrative management major, and in 1994 it added an independent human resource management major. This major adopts a collaborative development model of teaching and scientific research, relying on the construction of multiple scientific research platforms such as the National Talent Theory Research Base-China (Nanjing) Talent Research Center and the Human Resources Research Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources. Professional rankings have always been in a leading position in the country, and graduates have also been widely recognized and accepted, and enjoy a high reputation in society.
The origin of the accounting profession in HHBS can be traced back to the adult finance and accounting specialty (water conservancy and electric power management) established in 1985. Relying on the comprehensive advantages of the school's water conservancy and other disciplines, this major is committed to cultivating senior accounting talents with profound humanistic background, solid professional knowledge, strong sense of innovation, outstanding industry services, broad international vision, and high professional ethics. After 35 years of development, this major has formed the outstanding characteristics of knowledge, literacy and ability compound training and teaching, learning, and research in terms of talent training, and has achieved fruitful results.
